Why Use a Local Image DPI Checker?
100% Private, Secure Processing
Unlike other online tools that upload your private photos to their remote servers, PrinterTools processes your files completely **on your own computer**. Using standard HTML5 FileReader APIs, we check details locally, meaning your images never travel across the web.
Instant Feedback on Print Readiness
Simply drop your JPG, PNG, WebP, or SVG file. Our engine parses the dimensions instantly, letting you toggle between inches and centimeters or standard dimensions to evaluate if the file will print sharply or blurry.
Understanding File Dimensions vs. Print Resolution
An image does not have a fixed physical size on its own; it only has pixel dimensions (e.g. 3000 x 2000 pixels). The physical size depends entirely on how densely you compress those pixels when printing:
- Printing at **300 DPI** yields a physical size of 10 × 6.6 inches (High definition print).
- Printing the exact same file at **150 DPI** yields a physical size of 20 × 13.3 inches (Standard poster print).
- Printing at **72 DPI** yields a physical size of 41.6 × 27.7 inches (Low resolution billboard print).
Therefore, our checker calculates your image print quality dynamically based on the exact width and height you select!
